FLY BOY
The Movie
DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
And sometimes we lose people… It’s terrible. And it’s about the ones who still live we need to take care of.
SYNOPSIS
Fly boy is about two brothers and their father. They both want to be pilot. One gets killed and the other has to pick up the pieces. Their father goes into alcoholism. The film is about grief and growing up.
Brothers Will and Jon share their family’s passion for aeroplanes, both hoping to be able to fly a plan some day. When their father reveals to them that he has bought one, they are over the moon.
Eleven years later, Jon tries to impress his younger brother Will by going on a solo flight one night, only for tragedy to strike when he gets killed after losing control of the plane. In the aftermath of his death, the family falls apart, and Will is left with the impossible task of trying to keep them together.
A random meeting at Jon’s funeral with a girl that both brothers met on the day their father revealed the plane, provides Will with the opportunity to move on and leave both the past and the painful present behind him.
DIRECTOR’S VISION
Choices made from guilt, loyalty, passion, ambition and love. No easy choices in life.
I would imagine that the audience would feel tender, energized, shock and often discomfort – a roller coaster of emotions.
A simple story with a twist and everthing will hang on the quality of the acting keeping it real and gritty not superficial. We have great actors who well do that.
